What is an exempt?
An exempt allows you to make exceptions to a ban you have set in your channel. For example, if you have *!*@*.co.uk banned, but have some friends who use IPs ending in blueyonder.co.uk, they would normally be affected by the *!*@*.co.uk ban. You could use one of the following exempts to let them into your channel, even though *!*@*.co.uk is banned.

There are two types of exempt commands on IRCtoo:

1. Chanserv exempt, which you set by typing /Chanserv EXEMPTS <#channel> ADD <mask> [reason] - This allows you to exempt your friends from both akicks and wide channel bans. E.g. /Chanserv EXEMPTS #irctoo ADD *!*@*.blueyonder.co.uk

2. Server exempt, which you set by typing /mode #channel +e - This exempts your friends from wide bans, but not akicks. E.g. /mode #irctoo +e *!*@*.blueyonder.co.uk
